A Taste of the World Series

Monthly dinners at a new ethnic restaurant in the Midlands, encouraging  social interaction among members, staff and the board. Good food, company and cuisine.

Conversation Groups

Informal gatherings of individuals interested in practicing/maintaining their foreign language skills. Groups meet in French, German, Spanish, Russian, and Chinese. Click here to learn more.

Our Programs

Our programs and activities are designed to educate and inform our members about real issues that drive world affairs, and also to provide rare opportunities to interact directly with leaders on the world stage.

Academic WorldQuest

A team game testing contestants’ knowledge of Countries, Flags, People in the News, UN, US  Neighbors, Famous Landmarks, Peoples of the World, Nobel Prize Winners, Current Events and Great Decisions 2005. A Team consists of 4 high school students who are sent to Washington D.C. for the national competition.

Distinguished Speakers Series

Luncheons and dinners featuring distinguished local, national and international experts and policymakers discussing timely international issues.

Global Connection Series

Receptions featuring international organizations, groups or individuals that create global connections for South Carolina in the areas of trade, politics and culture.

Global Vision Award

Annual award recognizing an individual, organization or business that has helped to expand South Carolina’s international horizons. The recipient is honored at a black-tie dinner gala.

Sister Cities of Columbia

A program dedicated to furthering global understanding among the citizens of  Columbia by encouraging and assisting the City and its citizens to link with similar communities around the world. The goal is for the communities involved to learn more about each other and develop lasting and meaningful exchanges in the fields of business, education, medicine, religion and culture.
