Columbia World Affairs Council

Volunteer with Us

Help create a Global Vision for South Carolina while having fun.  Volunteering gives you an opportunity to contribute to your community, interact with local business and academic professionals and build skills for your resume.

How Volunteering Benefits You

Volunteering provides you the opportunity to network with some of the most interesting people and organizations in the Midlands.

Your "hands on" attitude will help provide engaging programs and activities with a broad international focus.

Students in high school and college may be able to receive class credit or work experience by volunteering with the World Affairs Council of Columbia. Check with your teacher or guidance counselor.

Volunteers are recognized on our web site and at special events.  See the list of some of the volunteers who have helped so far!

Extraordinary volunteers are presented with an award at the World Affairs Council of Columbia's Annual Meeting.  Maybe they will announce your name next year.

Volunteer Positions

The World Affairs Council has a wide variety of volunteer positions available.  Whether you are looking for a consistent, part-time position or just want to help out with individual projects, we have something for you.

Event Planning. Organization of a specific event, writing and distributing press releases, notifying members and the community regarding events, executing the details behind events.

Graphic Design. Design brochures and other promotional materials.

Office Volunteer. Become one of what we call our "key players" -- the people who really make it happen!  Answer phones, data entry, bulk mailing, filing.
