Ashley Cole, Membership Coordinator

Ashley is a native of Cheraw, SC, and she is a third-year student at the University of South Carolina where she is double-majoring in International Business and Marketing with minor in French. After finishing her undergraduate degree, Ashley plans to attend law school. She enjoys traveling and has studied abroad in Troyes and Tours, both cities in France. Participating in a wide variety of campus organizations, promoting and engaging in service learning, fishing, and cheering on the USC football team are her favorite hobbies.

Andrew Schwark, Program Coordinator

Andrew comes to the World Affairs Council from the heart of America’s Dairyland ( Wisconsin) and is a self-proclaimed cheese connoisseur. A fourth year international business and finance major at the University of South Carolina with minors in French and Japanese, he is addicted to traveling and recently returned from spending a year in the Republic of Senegal, preceded by six months in Belgium. While in the country, Andrew enjoys hiking, biking, tennis, golf, and reading.

Samantha Smith, Administrative Assistant

Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Samantha is the newest intern at WAC. She is currently working on an undergraduate degree with a focus on International Business and French. She loves to travel and listen to music. On campus, Samantha enjoys going to sporting events, Carolina Finance Club meetings, and being an active member of the Greek organization Delta Delta Delta.

Shatha Alwardi, Graduate Assistant

Shatha is a student from Bahrain. She holds a B.S. degree from the University of Bahrain and is currently a Fulbright Scholar in the IMBA program.  She previously worked as a financial analyst in the investment banking area of the Arab Banking Corporation.  She is fluent in Arabic, English, and Farsi and speaks minimal German.
