Founded in 1993, the Columbia World Affairs Council is a private, non-profit 501(c) 3 non-partisan organization with over 500 members in the Midlands region of South Carolina,located in the state capital.

It is part of the national World Affairs Councils of America network with over 497,000 participants, 93 other Councils and 28 affiliated organizations.

The Columbia World Affairs Council is also a member of the South Carolina Association of Nonprofit Organizations (SCANPO), a network of nonprofit organizations in South Carolina.
