About the Program:

This program consists of a year-long initiative to increase student/high school programming, a wonderful global opportunity for six lucky area high school teachers (a nine day Study Tour of the fascinating country of Turkey with the Turkish Cultural Foundation this summer), and opportunities for all members and Midlands area residents to explore the marvels and cultural richness of Turkey.

Highlights of the Program:

1) A two-day cultural workshop with speakers, music, and various presentations on Turkey to be held on Friday, April 3rd from 4:00PM - 9:00PM and Saturday, April 4th, 2009 from 8:30AM - 1:00PM at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School.

2) A nine day study tour of Turkey - six chosen teachers will participate

3) A "Portrait of Turkey" program - teachers that visit Turkey will share their experiences and new found knowledge. Scheduled for Monday, October 12th, 2009; location TBA.

2009 Turkish Culture Initiative

Turkish Cultural Symposium and Teacher Workshop: Part III on Monday, October 12, 2009

Join us as we welcome our educators back from their voyage to Turkey. Each teacher will speak on a different cultural topic regarding their research and travel experience from June 2009.
