Ashley Cole (January 2007 - ) Assistant Director

Ashley is a native of Cheraw, SC, and she recently graduated from the University of South Carolina with majors in International Business and Marketing and a minor in French. This summer, Ashley plans to do a bit of traveling before beginning her joint J.D. and I.M.B.A. degree at the University of South Carolina in August. She enjoys learning about other cultures and has studied abroad in Troyes and Tours, both cities in France. Participating in a wide variety of campus organizations, promoting and engaging in service learning, fishing, and cheering on the USC football team are her favorite hobbies.

 

Christine Hauer (January 2009 - ) Specialist, Programs and Membership (USC Intern)

Christine grew up in Aiken, SC and stayed close to home to pursue an International Business degree at USC. After playing USC Volleyball for two years, then joining the USC Track and Field team for one year, she decided to focus on school and joined the World Affairs Council to expand her professional knowledge. Studying International Business and Global Supply Chain Management with a minor in German, she is hoping to use her majors to travel as much as possible. Christine has studied abroad in Brazil, China, and Germany, and looks forward to her Africa study abroad trip this summer.

 

Spencer Cantrell (May 2009 - July 2009) Summer Intern

Spencer Cantrell is a senior, double majoring in International Studies and Women’s Studies at the University of South Carolina.  During the school year, she works as both a Resident Advisor in the dorms as well as an intern for the South Carolina Senate Judiciary Committee.  Upon graduation, she plans to go to law school, with an emphasis on International Law.  Spencer is from Savannah, Georgia but she has studied abroad in both Germany and England.  Her travel experiences are what sparked her interests in the Columbia World Affairs Council, an excellent summer experience.

 

Chris Taylor (June 2009 - August 2009) Summer Intern

Chris Taylor is a sophomore, majoring in Government with a subconcentration in International Affairs at Harvard University. He has a diversity of interests, ranging from working toward tobacco control for the Institute of Politics to playing collegiate frisbee. Upon graduation, Chris will attend law school to study one of his many legal interests in Corporate, Constitutional, or International Law. He has traveled abroad to France, Spain, and Italy, and looks forward to continued global experiences.
